Hi! I'm Kim and I created this unusual collection of t-shirt creatures. Unglefor is the project that I've worked on during 2006/7 for my Interactive arts degree in Manchester, UK. I guess the idea came from my love of crafting, my obsession with t-shirts and my over active imagination. The project itself started life rather differently, all the creatures were originally crafted in canvas and t-shirts were pretty minimal. Sometime around the start of 2007, January perhaps, the project took a turn in the direction that it finally arrived at. In fact, if you take a look on the gallery page, there's a whole gallery dedicated to the work that went on over the course of the year. So let's see, without giving too much away on here (there's so much visual information on this website, check out the creature guide area), here's some stuff you should know about Unglefor!

imageplace Unglefor is a make believe land, a forest perhaps? where a bunch of creatures live. They're made from t-shirt material, don't you know, and you can make them yourself. The Unglefor creatures come to you ready for adoption printed on plain white t-shirts. You can choose whether you want to wear the shirt and admire your creature in a 2D manner, or if you'd like to cut out the buddy and sew them together. There are several different species of Unglefor creatures, each with their own Latin name. Their arms and legs are interchangeable, and your only method of species identification is by their torso/body shape (check the creature guide section to identify your critter!). The creatures have several different surface designs too, and these constantly change depending on new designs ;). The colours in Unglefor for now are pretty minimal, the shirts are white, outlines are black or grey, and all patterns are printed in a light pink, a light green, a light yellow or a light blue. It's also pot-luck which facial expression your adopted creature will come with!

Well that's all, take a look around the site, there's loads to see!
